Teal Appeal

January 13, 2010

According to Pantone, the “It” color for 2010 is Teal…and since Pantone is the unofficial deity of all things, well, colorful, if they say blue is the new black, we listen.   So, without further ado, here is our inspiration board of how to add “something blue” to your big day.

1.  Adding a sash to your wedding gown is a great way to add a little color to an otherwise plain palette.   This blue sash from David’s Bridal is an affordable $39.

2. Teal is actually a great color for bridesmaid’s dresses, since it pops on both light and dark skin tones.  This silk taffeta dress from J. Crew combines a bold shade with a simple shape.

3.  These handcrafted earrings from Objets d’Envy make a perfect gift for bridesmaids, since your girls are sure to wear them long after the ceremony.

4. Sale Alert!  The peach-y color of this  J.Crew necklace is a lovely accent to a teal-themed outfit–AND the necklace is currently on sale at Jcrew.com for $59.99.

5.  For a cheap and chic centerpiece, buckets of apricots are an unexpected choice.

6. An invitation from NewandBlue.com.

7. Choose orange, pink, and yellow tulips for beautiful flower arrangements.

8. This tiara headband from Weddingstar.com is a cute way to tie in an accent color while adding a little bling to your up-do!

9.  The guy behind the color craze–possibly a living decoration?

10. Lovely Louboutins!  Okay, so this pair may be so 2009, but a quick browse through Barneys.com tells us there are plenty of great options for twenty-ten.

11.  This cake packs a one-two punch:  Not only is it the perfect shade of Tiffany-blue, but after a few bites, the icing is sure to dye your guests’ mouths to match!

12. An inspiring table from an event we went to last year-the product of a collaboration of stylish minds from  Crosell&Co., Stems Flowers, and BBJ Linen, all of Chicago.

Hope that gets your creativity flowing.  Happy planning!

Ooo…the J Crew dress accessorized with a peach scarf, those Louboutins, and the Toile earrings (wink!) would be to die for! Perfect for a spring wedding. I love the teal appeal!
