Urban Dwelling At Its Finest

June 2, 2010

In such an architecturally beautiful city as Chicago, who wouldn’t love touring some of the city’s most stunning homes?  We were so thrilled to attend this year’s “City Style” House Tour, sponsored by the parent’s association of Chicago City Day School.  While this event is always one of the highlights in Chicago’s spring social season, this time they particularly outdid themselves.  This year’s tour featured homes originally built in the late 19th and early 20th century in the Belmont Harbor neighborhood.  These historically significant residences have all been restored and refurbished, and we loved the mix of vintage exteriors with elegant and contemporary interiors.  Here are a few of our favorite spaces from the tour (photography courtesy of Jamie Padgett):

If you missed the event this year, be sure to keep an eye out for next year’s “City Style” House Tour (date still TBD).  For all of you newlyweds who are working on feathering your nests, this is a great opportunity to see some of the most beautiful homes in Chicago, and hopefully find some design inspiration!
