Sweet Temptations

July 26, 2010

Looking for a cute way to add something different and sweet to your wedding?  We’ve got you covered!  Here are some fun ideas, from coast to coast:

Even if you have a traditional wedding cake, we love the idea of passing around bite-sized desserts to your guests.  These cakepops from Sweet Lauren Cakes in California are the perfect example of a sweet treat on a stick that will enable your guests to cut a rug without having to leave the dance floor!

Another fork-free way to indulge in something sweet are these Cake Balls, hailing from Dallas and are currently all the rage (despite the suggestive name).  They come in a variety of flavors, and you can also purchase them boxed as wedding favors for your guests.  So ladies, the next time you say you want “just a bite” of dessert, these will honor your request!

Having a candy buffet at your reception is another way to add something sweet and unique to your wedding.  Your guests will oo and ahh over Charleston Chews, Sugar Daddies, Sweedish Fish, and Good and Plenty’s, especially if they can have a few bites at the reception and then take some home for later.   We recommend buying the candy in bulk: in Chicago, we love Candyality, and in New York, we love Dylan’s Candy Bar.  Then, you can display your treats in beautiful apothecary jars, and provide bags or Chinese carry out containers with your initials and wedding date on them.  What a great way to send your guests off with sweet memories of your wedding!

Sweet dreams!
