Books And Boxers

August 6, 2010

Earlier this summer, we gave some tips on our favorite beach reads and bikinis for all of our gal readers, and we decided it was time to include the boys!  Thanks to our favorite guys for sharing what they’re reading right now, or classics that they love to read every summer.  Here’s what we hear is good:

Memorial Day, by Vince Flynn: this is a great read for all of you 24 fans who are in withdrawal since the last season ended.  When terrorist hunter Mitch Rapp discovers a plot to smuggle nuclear weapons into the U.S., he and his counter-terrorism team must go to great lengths to stop it.  Definitely a page-turner!

The Tipping Point, by Malcolm Gladwell: this one will definitely make you think a bit.  Gladwell examines how little changes can have big effects, causing fads and other phenomena.  All of the examples from pop culture and today’s world make this an incredibly interesting read.

The Devil in the White City, by Erik Larson: this is the perfect combination of suspense, intrigue, and history.  Set in Chicago during the World’s Fair in 1893, this book tells the parallel stories of Daniel Burnham, the famous architect responsible for the fair’s construction and several other notable Chicago landmarks, and H.H. Holmes, a serial killer who used the fair to lure his next victims.  A bit chilling, but a great read!

And for some fun boxers, here is what we think is good!

For a classically preppy look, we love these Ralph Lauren oxford boxers.  These Paul Frank Signature Julius boxers will definitely add some fun to your unders drawer.  And there is just something so fantastic about a guy in black boxer briefs, like these from Calvin Klein.
